Volunteers Needed - Sunday 18th July
On Sunday the 18th July the trustees are looking for volunteers to help with essential works around the field. There will be a variety of works being undertaken so all ages are welcomed. There will be a BBQ in the evening for all those who help!

The Objects of the Charity are specified as follows :
The provision and maintenance of a recreation ground for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Backwell without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. This shall include the provision or assistance towards the provision on the said recreation ground or any part thereof of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
The Administration of the Park is carried out by the Backwell Playing Fields Charity, a private charity as above involving a maximum of 12 Trustees, the details of which can be seen under contact.
The administration of the Park involves continual maintenance with a limited income from the few main users of the grounds:-
- Cutting the grass sub-contracted to North Somerset District Council
- Hedge Trimming
- Dog and Litter Bins Clearance
- Litter Clearance
- Vandalism Prevention
- Car Parks
- Repairs to Judo Club Building
- Repairs to Youth Club Building
- Electricity
- Building Rates
- Insurance
- General Maintenance, particularly children’s play equipment.
We are continually striving to improve the Park for all users of the Backwell Village community and some of the problems involved of a private charity trying to satisfy the requirements of public service are detailed under About Us.
